Flux & save launch

I couldn’t be more excited for Flux to have launched our first game changing social impact collaboration with Save the Children Australia. 🙌🏻

I’ve long held a belief that there are alternative models to corporate philanthropy. An annual leave day to volunteer with an NFP, for example. The intentions are noble, but after helping out in a kitchen for a night, that same kitchen still desperately needs people the next day.

For the consulting industry, I felt there was a more impactful and sustainable way to assist nonprofits perform their vital work, in particular using our skills and methods to deliver transformational change to their operations. When Flux was founded, we made sure to include solving real world problems in our mission, not just the bottom line.

With the incredible support and work we have done with our key clients this year at Australian Unity, Optus, and the Dept. of Defence, we committed to reinvesting 10% of our profit, and our time, into applying Flux transformation methods to support NFP programs to reach critical milestones.

What we needed was an opportunity to develop and prove the method.

That came when my good friend, Mel Parks and I met for a coffee and I shared the vision I had been hoping to realise in my consulting career but had been unable to, despite my best efforts. Mel and I have worked together over many years and discovered our values to be aligned. We both have a shared passion for transformation and giving back to causes we care about. In fact Mel left the corporate world in 2021 and accepted the Save role now as Deputy CEO to do just that!

Flux and Save signed a partnership agreement in January this year, but we’ve waited until the launch of our first collaboration to announce the partnership. It was important to deliver a tangible outcome beforehand.

Our consulting team signed up to collaborate on at least two projects pro-bono. The first being an optimised payments project which removed inefficiencies in Save’s donations collection process and will support revenue annually.
Opening up our toolkit the Save team delivered incredible results for the organisation and we are proud to have supported them in their delivery, hopefully leaving some lasting tools and techniques for Save to use. 😊

The feedback has been awesome. Obviously, Save are ecstatic about their fundraising efficiencies, while internally the Flux team have loved deploying a positive outcome for a very worthy cause, I love having our consultants head off to work with teams that are so fabulously passionate, purposeful and collaborative. It’s a win-win.

Personally, I believe this model delivers impact at scale and changes the game for NFP-consultant partnerships. I’m looking forward to Flux and Save rolling out another collaboration this calendar year and continuing to work together, and with other mission aligned NFPs in the years ahead. ❤️
