EOFY with a twist
This year I wanted to do something different for end of financial year, and celebrating at the NBWS Gala seemed the perfect way to do it ๐
I realise it is early May, but when I founded Flux, I did so with a purpose to solve real world problems and give back to causes I feel passionate about. Serendipitously, this time last year, a friend invited me to join their table at the Northern Beaches Women's Shelter's annual fundraising event.
Although Iโve lived in the area for many years, I wasnโt familiar with NBWS, but I went along and was truly moved by their work helping women and children in need of safe shelter.
So too the positivity I felt at their event, with clever auctions, fascinating speakers and the outright fun had by all. As I sat there, I made a mental commitment to return and do what I could to help grow the organisationโs reach.
So, it was amazing to do just that for NBWSโ 15th anniversary last Saturday night - and with an event title like โHope and Transformation,โ how could I not attend? ๐คทโโ๏ธ
In contrast to my lone attendance the previous year, joining me in 2025 was a full table of wonderful friends, members of our Sydney team, partners and clients - all with a personal or professional connection to both Flux and the Beaches region.
And while EOFY might not be top of mind for all just yet, I felt what better way than to recognise ours than by attending a party like this and paying some of our own success forward to women in need of vital support.
Flux has a clear mission to drive impact at scale as part of our strategy and I look forward to sharing more on this in due course
Congratulations to CEO Narelle Hand and her NBWS team for a truly fantastic event. As we sat there enjoying the night, my group promised to loop back in 2026 with at least three tables! โบ๏ธ
Iโm hoping many more friends will join us there. I'm looking forward to it already! ๐ฅณ
